Mr Hopkins holds a BA (Hons) in Politics and Global studies and a PGCE with QTS. He is an experienced and successful teacher with experience across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. He is currently enrolled on the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL), which is due to be completed in September 2024, and the National Professional Qualification for Leading Behaviour and Culture (NPQLBC), which is due to be completed in January 2025.
Over his career, Mr Hopkins has worked in a number of roles in schools, including phase lead and SENCO, across several London Boroughs (Greenwich, Walthamstow and Bromley) and in Hampshire. He is particularly interested in providing equality, and equity, for all children and holds a strong belief that everybody can be successful if we work together to provide the best environment for us all to thrive.
Outside of education, Mr Hopkins gained experience in leadership when working in retail and in an ASD residential school for teenagers. He volunteered for a year in 2012 to work with a L’arche community in the Philippines, which was a home for children and adults with a variety of needs that had been abandoned at birth. In the summer, he fills his time playing lawn bowls for Blackheath and Greenwich Bowling club.
