Mr Hewitt holds a BSc (Hons) in Exercise Physiology from the University of Winchester and a PGCE with QTS. In 2022, he joined the Senior Leadership Team at La Fontaine Academy. Throughout his career, he has completed the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML), the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) and the National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching Development (NPQLTD).
Prior to working at La Fontaine Academy, Mr. Hewitt started his teaching career in Bournemouth, before moving to London and working at various schools across different boroughs. He has worked in a number of roles, including phase leader, subject leader and early career mentor. More recently, Mr Hewitt has taken responsibility for the continuing professional development of the school, providing a programme for educators, improving their teaching practice to best suit the needs of the learners. Mr Hewitt is also a Level 3 Designated Lead for Safeguarding at La Fontaine Academy.
Outside of school, Mr Hewitt is a proud father and family person. He fundamentally believes that education has the power to help children acquire the skills, commitment and resilience to become successful, independent life-long learners.
