Year 6 Inflatables Day 2021

On Friday 9th July, our Year 6 had an amazing day filled with inflatables, snacks and games! As we weren’t able to go to PGL this year (thanks, Corona!), we wanted to think differently about how we can celebrate the end of the La Fontaine school journey for our oldest children. Over the last few weeks of term, the Year 6 have been to Go Ape, they’ve had fun in a local park, they’ve been working very hard to practice for their end-of-year production, and they’ve also got a movie night coming up… but Friday was all about inflatables!

The Year 6 children and parents have been working incredibly hard over the last term to raise money; each week, they have been selling popcorn, ice cream and croissant (this is La Fontaine!), and thanks to the generosity of our community raised enough money to hire some seriously huge inflatables! We had a MASSIVE inflatable assault course, as well as a GIANT slide – the height of a house!

Year 6 had this all to themselves for the day (the other year groups were maybe a little jealous and have already started planning for their treats when they get to Year 6…) and thoroughly enjoyed racing each other through the assault course and challenging their personal best times. Mr Warner got involved in the afternoon to put a little spin on the activities and keep the energy levels high.

Of course once a La Fontaine student, always a La Fontaine student; our community always welcomes back our alumni with open arms, but as an ‘au revoir activity’, this one went down very, very well!

Who knows what next year’s Year 6 will come up with?!
